Black Lava Into Gold . . .
Alchemy is not in my vocabulary on a daily basis, but my brother mentioned the word in relation to my Lava Glow Jewelry designs. Beside Alchemy, defined as the medieval forerunner to chemistry. It tried to transform base metals into gold...a seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination.
Taking volcanic lava rock and gilding it with gold might or might not come under this definition, but all I know, is why I love the process. I love transforming the natural lava into gold nugget-like beads that are luxurious to wear. Whether gilding the lava rock or keeping the raw black stone in its natural state, it remains quite exquisite for a rustic and elegant look.
